Princeton Project on National Security

Finally, finally, and at last we are presented with some sensible, intelligent and logical solutions to the many new and serious threats that are facing the United States and the world at large in the 21st Century. Released Wednesday, September 27, The Princeton Project for National Security, co-chaired by former Secretary of State, Charles Schultz and former National Security Advisor, Anthony Lake, with over 400 other well qualified participants, presents a comprehensive long term strategy for U.S. world leadership in dealing with the terrorist security threats, the Middle East trouble spots, the geopolitical problems brought on by over dependence on oil, and the inability of the United Nations to deal with states which fail to protect their citizens from avoidable catastrophes such as genocide, ethnic cleansing and deliberate starvation, as well as other well-known threats to American national security.

This came to my attention from Jim Lobe’s article in Asia Times Online, while Martin Walker, Editor Emeritus, who was one of journalist participants in the project, describes the project’s conclusions in United Press International (UPI). Other than that, in a Google search, I find no other references to this important project in major news releases. In my opinion, this is a very important document which should receive wide publicity in national news media and extensive consideration by both Republican and Democratic political leaders and the American public. I urge every one to at least read Martin Walker’s report on the Project.
